Summer Inspired Cards | Lily Bee

Good Morning crafters while I am holed up in my office playing with paper escaping the crazy 90 degree temperatures (crazy for September right) I thought I would spend a couple days catching you up on the many cards I have done over the past few months.

Today I am leading off with a few cards from Lily Bee.

(Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Lily Bee Patterned Paper/Alphas/Stickers/chipboard, We R Memory Keepers Corner Rounder, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher and Hemp Twine)

Both cards used pretty much the same supplies. Have you noticed my newest addiction. It's the Hemp twine. I got a large roll before my local scrapbook store closed in June. There is something about this twine I really adore, I can't decide if it's the weight or color. It seems to find it's way onto almost all my projects.

Have a happy day!

Woven Background | Lily Bee

Greeting crafters I have survived the first week of school. I am super thrilled to have our schedule back in place. I feel so much more settled than I have in months.

Today I have a layout that was featured on the Lily Bee blog last month. I cut 1 inch strips of some of my favorite Lily Bee patterned papers from the Destination Collection and I wove them together to create a background. I love the fun mix the woven background adds to this layout. This technique can look really busy so I kept the rest of my layout including my photo really clean and simple.

September PageMaps | CardMaps

Greetings crafters as promised yesterday I am showing off my September PageMaps project. I chose this sketch because I was drawn to the 3 square photos in a row I couldn't resist the polaroid. I am seriously addicted to them.

I also thought it would be fun to play around with this quarter's CardMaps sketch. I immediately loved this sketch. It felt simple yet it still pushed me outside my comfort zone. I normally don't layer so many patterned papers.

You are never too old for bubbles | Jillibean Soup

Happy Tuesday crafters now that I am back in the regular rotation at Jillibean Soup I have accumulated quite a few projects to post. Combine this with my infrequent blog updates this summer and yup it means I have projects to share. I tend to forget what order they go up on the blog so I thought I would just start with a recent favorite.

This layout began with the Jillibean Soup placemat. I am going to fess up to the fact that besides the polaroid frames (which I am obsessed with) this is the only other placemat I have used. I often see clean lines when I design and while I love the designs of the placemats I sometimes find myself super intimidated by their complexity. Yeah I am making it way more than it needs to be I know that. I took the plunge and this is what I came up with.

I really love how I managed to use the placemat while still maintaining those lines I am always looking for when I scrap. Have a fully conquered my neurotic fears of the Jillibean Soup placemats ... yeah probably not but I am proud to say I have one on desk right now going onto a future project.

If you are looking for more fabulous ideas on how to use the Jillibean Soup circle placemat make sure you check out the summer issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today. It was one of the featured products in the designer challenge column.

Peace & Love
