March Spellbinders | PageMaps

Happy March! It's the first of the month and it's time for my monthly PageMaps layout. This month my Spellbinders die focus was on the You are Here arrow set.

I keep saying I need to try to push myself out of my sketch comfort zone. I tried that this month and it wasn't as easy as it sounded in my head. It's funny how once you start moving things around the sketch starts to take on a life of it's own.

The truth is my layout still looks like the sketch. I guess I have more gorwing to do. But that it what I love so much about this crazy thing called scrabooking. I tried playing around with the idea of using the Spellbinder's dies to create a custom background. I don't think I fully executed my vision they way it was in my head. I like the concept and will be trying it out again super soon.

Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting.

White Space | Jillibean Soup

Hello Crafters!!! I hope this Thursday finds you well. I am digging out many of my layouts from the past several months to share. Seems all my nonsense got be a bit behind on loading up many of my projects. Today I have a layout I did for Jillibean Soup to share with you.

I am constantly trying to challenge myself with new design concepts and ideas. Sometimes my experiments work and other times they don't. White space is a design element I once embraced however lately I can't get comfortable with it. Not sure why my design focus shifted but it did. Awhile back I spotted a layout on 2 Peas in a Bucket with great use of white space. Of course now that I want to find that layout again I can't. I challenged myself to re-create the trapped white space look on this layout I did for Jillibean Soup.

I adored the trapped white space on the original layout I saw but for some reason the same concept didn't feel right when I put it in play on my layout. Don't get me wrong I like the way my layout turned out but I won't be trapping any white space in the near future it just didn't seem to flow with my style.

I hope you have a fabulous Thursday. Happy Crafting :)

Altered Boxes | Technique Tuesday

Happy Tuesday. Today I have my last CHA Technique Tuesday Stamping project to share with you. These are simple altered square gift boxes I covered with scraps of patterned paper and dressed up with Technique Tuesday tiles and stamps. I used a couple of my favorite Teri Anderson stamp sets on this project.

This set of boxes was super fun to create. I grabbed a pile of my favorite scraps and went to work. Technique tiles are very much like chipboard but rather than being grey they are cream and take ink and mist very well.

I used to be afraid of stamping. I admit it intimidated me and honestly I consider most of what I do to be pretty basic. If I can do it so can you. Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting.

Valentine Garland | Pinterest Inspired

Today I am going to start off by saying how much I love Pinterest. It's such a fabulous way to organize all kinds of things from your favorite receipes, books you want to read and most importantly fun crafty projects.

I found a super cute heart garland and couldn't resit making one of these of my own.

My Pinterest inspired piece was made from recycled book paper. I really love the simple look of this one but I made mine more eclectic using lots of fun scraps of paper.
