PageMaps November Layout

Happy November friends! I cannot believe we are in the home stretch of 2013. I am not sure where the time has gone. The first of the month means it's time for a new Pagemaps layout. I had a difficult time picking a sketch this month I loved so many of them.I ended up with this 3 photo sketch because it fit the story I wanted to tell perfectly.

This was a great sketch to work with it really called to me and fit my style nicely. The changes I made to the sketch are very subtle just a little shifting here and there.

Happy Halloween Banner | Jillibean Soup

Happy Friday ... Things have been a little crazy at mi casa. Were in the last stretch before Halloween and I have lots of work to get done. I cannot believe I have yet again commited to making my daughter a Halloween costume. As long as she keeps asking I am sure I will keep sewing. So in honor of my current sewing project I am sharing a Halloween banner I made for Jillibean Soup.

Don't laugh this project started out as a layout and then somehow evolved into a banner. This is what I would call a "happy accident" I was playing with the bags and the idea of matting photos on them and and then viola the banner was born.

Have a happy wonderful weekend!

The hashtag trend | Technique Tuesday

Morning crafters I have a new layout I did recently for Technique Tuesday I am super excited to share with you today. This layout just shot to the top of my favorites list. It features 2 of Teri Anderson's newest stamp sets Say Cheese and Blah, Blah. So when I first saw Say Cheese 6 months ago I thought cute but how would I use this set. Fast forward to September and I was tasked with using the same set that once had me befuddled. Funny how what you are drawn to changes in such a short period of time. Apparently my obsession with Polaroids emerged in the last 6 months and I knew immediately what I was going to do with the stamp set. This is the end result.

A couple things to note about this layout the speech bubbles frames and camera were all hand cut. All the photos were taken with my iphone 5 and if I were to open my camera roll right now I bet there are at least half a dozen more Corinne selfies to be found. I couldn't resist using the hash tag trend as my title inspiration for this layout.

Thanks for stopping by be good and happy crafting.

Christmas in October | Jillibean Soup Cards

Good afternoon friends I thought I'd throw up a mid day post of some recent Jillibean Soup Christmas cards. I have been experiencing some technical difficulties with my favorite laptop (insert sarcasm) and over the weekend I had to have tech support (AKA Grant) wipe the hard-drive. Since tech support is a moody 16 year old boy he doesn't do reinstalls. So for the past 3 days I have been rebuilding my wonderful laptop (insert more sarcasm). So I am in the process of getting myself back up and running. I think I might be good to go now so wish me luck.

Time for 3 super simple cards featuring Jillibean Soup's Christmas Cheer Chowder.I am going to skip the supply lists today since these 3 cards are almost 100% Jillibean.

Happy-Holidays-Card

This first card features a fun stripe pattern called Tossed Tinsel. I cut 1/2 inch strips and alternated them to create a super trendy chevron look out of an otherwise basic striped patterned paper. I love the technique and will try it again soon probably on a layout.

Happy-Holidays-Friend-CARD-

This next card follows my super simple formula I tend to favor with my cards. I often try to layer multiple patterns and I always end up going for the basic less cluttered look. This card features my favorite stapled hemp twine bow which I use everywhere these days.

Joy-to-the-world-Card

I love the the simplicity of my final card. I used a Jillibean Soup stamp and replaced the "O" with a die cut then finished off the greeting with my favorite Alphabeans. Another one of my go to favorite trends right now is the dotted line under the alphas. I love how this simple touch can ground a greeting or title.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a happy Wednesday.

I created the little details on this layout from stamps and dies from My Favorite Things designed by my friend Lania Lamb. I love stamps and dies they can be customized to fit into any color scheme. They were perfect for a Colour Suite layout.

Happy World Cardmaking Day from Scrapbook & Cards Today

Hello again welcome to part 2 of my World Card Making Day celebration post. Scrapbook and Cards Today is hosting an all day event with new posts every hour and lots and lots of fun give aways.

We were asked to choose a CardMaps sketch from sometime this year and create a card. This is the sketch I chose to work with (sorry if it's a little blurry).

World card making day sketch PM

I was drawn to this sketch because it was horizontal and I loved the white space.

(Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Patterned Paper Bella Blvd/Simple Stories/Pebbles, Stickers Bella Blvd, Stamp Technique Tuesday, White Embossing Powder Stampin Up, VersaMark Ink, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, Becky Fleck Spellbinders Scallop border metal die, and Hemp Twine)

Funny what happens during the design process. I ended up turning my card vertical trimming about 1 inch from the original A2 size thus making my card almost square. The end result was an orientation change and almost no white space.

Make sure you check out the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog to enter to win some fabulous prizes from my hour sponsors Spellbinders and American Crafts.
