the winter Colour Suite | Scrapbook & Cards Today

Good Morning crafters happy Tuesday. I am thinking forward to some of my future Colour Suites and I thought I would share my challenge from the winter 2013 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today.

The Winter Colour Suite was my take on Valentines with a twist. My winter challenge was built from traditional colours like red, pink and purple. Then I mixed things up by adding a peachy cantaloupe and a neutral brown. If you missed out on my full article you can still download the winter issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today.

I think my circle obsession has seriously taken root. I used metal circle dies from Technique Tuesday and my Cuttlebug to create my background then I filled all the negative spaces with all kinds of goodies. Circles and squares are perfect houses for all kinds of embellishments. I like to mix stamped elements with dimensional pieces or die cuts.

Happy scrapping :)

I don't often do 8.5x11 layouts so this was a challenge for me. There is a lot jam packed into this smaller package. I really love the idea of using the twine to create movement on this layout. It ties the title to the photo with design. I also used the circle elements to create a visual triange around the photo.

Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Scrapping :)

More Cards | Jillibean Soup

Hello happy Tuesday crafters. I am playing a little catch up on my blog with some Jillibean Soup cards. I would describe my card style as clean and simple. The truth is I simply cannot layer I try but it just never seems to work for me.

This first card features Sightseeing Stew. The airport code patterned paper is simply genius and I can see using it over and over again.

Jillibean-Adventure-CARD

This card features Spicy Social Soup. I punched all the icons using a 1 inch circle punch to create this clean and simple grid card.

Jillibean-Coo-Coo-Card

This final card is all about the the new thin chip alphas from Jillibean. I managed to use all the new colors of alphas with the exception of brown.

Jillibean-Thanks-CARD

I am going to skip the detailed supply lists today. All the products used were Jillibean Soup if you have questions feel free to email or leave your question in the comments. Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Crafting

March Colour Suite

Hello Saturday and welcome to the March Colour Suite a monthly colour challenge I put together for my friends at Scrapbook and Cards Today. This month I searched for the pot at the end of the rainbow and was totally drawn in by the idea of building the Colour Suite from gold.

Mar_2014_challenge

I always begin the Colour Suite process by shopping my stash and pulling every item in my stash that fits into the suite I created. While I am obsessed with gold it mainly exists in my stash in embellishments. So think is what I came up with.

Once-upon-a-time

(Supplies Used: My Favorite Things White Cardstock, Patterned Paper Crate Paper/American Crafts/Elle’s Studio/Simple Stories, Clothes Pins Crate Paper, Metal Dies Alphas My Favorite Things and Scallop Border Spellbinders, Circle Punches Marvy/EK Success, Stars American Crafts, Zing Gold Embossing Powder, VersaMark Ink, Stamps Technique Tuesday, Tiny Attacher Tim Holtz, Gold Bow Studio Calico, and font Typendoksidi downloaded from the internet)

Once-upon-a-time01

As you can see my gold focus came in the form of stamping. I love the look of gold embossing powder it's super rich and just the perfect shade of gold.

Once-upon-a-time02

Once-upon-a-time03

This month I invited the very talented Kim Jeffress to join me and take the Colour Suite challenge. I was super excited to have Kim join me this month it's so wonderful to see the unique perspective each guest designer takes with my colour choices. No matter my intent my layouts often burst with colour I just can't seem to escape it.

Thanks for joining me today for the February Colour Suite. To read more about this challenge or to check out my past challenges don't forget to make your way over to the Scrapbook & Cards Today website and Blog.

Happy crafting friends!
