A Favorite Layout

Every once in a while I create a layout that goes to the top of my favorite list. This one was my Colour Suite layout from the summer issue of Scrapbooking and Cards Today. Every once in awhile I create a color grouping that simply just rocks. Sometimes I think it's not the colors but how my photos and products translate my vision. I think this was the case here.

I think one of the reasons why I love this layout so much is the playful title work. I mentioned humor yesterday and I really love how I used the play on words on this layout. To read more about my Colour Suite make sure you check the summer issue of Scrapbooking and Cards Today.

Speaking of braces we went to orthodontist yesterday ... we are so very close to getting the metal off. He is going a little longer with his treatment than expected but he doens't seem to be phased.

Thanks for joining me on this last Friday of the month. I can't believe it's almost September. Happy Crafting

Something NEW (to me) ... mist

If you have followed my blog for awhile you might remember my creative bucket list. I think it's safe to say since misting has been on my list since 2010 I have "mist-phobia". I think I have under a dozen mists I often experiment with them but rarely end up using those experiments on my pages. My experiments usually just don't fit with my style.

I found a denim blue mist in my stash from Tattered Angles and I thought to myself this really would look cool with Persnickity from Lily Bee. Rather than mist straight on to my layout I first took the pumps out and tried the larger splatter approach. Then I did a few sprays. I was surprisingly happy with the results.

I came across this photo from a couple of years ago and I thought it screamed Corinne and Grant. I really like adding a touch of humor to my work it really says a lot about me and how I live my life. BTW I was so excited about how the mist turned out on my layout I bought a few more mists to play with ... I spy with my little eye Summer's latest obsession.

August Colour Suite

Welcome to the August Colour suite (better late than never). This month I decided to re-visit color theory and I created a challenge based off of analog colors. Analog colors are colors that sit side by side on the color wheel.

The Card Kitchen: Working with Kraft

Last week I was a guest designer for The Card Kitchen a monthly card kit club put together by Jillibean Soup. The kit was based off my favorite Jillibean Soup kraft paper: Game Day Chili.

Here are the 8 cards I made with my kit. Rather than listing the supplies for each card cause that would be insane please refer to the August Card Kitchen kit.

There is definitely a trick to working with kraft paper. It's a great neutral but a little bit goes a long way. I love to pair kraft with white or bright color because kraft is allowed to pop.

Just another manic monday ...

Oh how I wish is was still Sunday. I could use a few free days just to get ahead. I admit I am queen of procrastination but my busy schedule has kept me on top of all my projects. On deck this week getting ahead. Wish me luck.

My Bangles musical reference has inspired me to share this layout a recent favorite of mine. The photos are super old I don't know why I never scrapbooked them but I am glad I waited because the outcome turned out super fun.

This pocket formula design has become a favorite of mine so don't be surprised when you see variations on it in the future. So can you spot my musical design influence on this layout. To me it seems blatantly obvious and I was curious if it was as obvious to anyone else.

Enjoy your Monday.

New from Jillibean Soup: Country Pumpkin Chowder

TGIF WOW I am one tired mama too many late nights combined with some insomnia. I am surviving on a highly caffeinated diet which includes far too many trips to a local drive thru coffee shop.

I did this layout featuring Country Pumpkin Chowder the new fall release for Jillibean Soup.

I stumbled upon the quote I used by accident I couldn't believe how well it went with the photo. I think I am going to add using more quotes to my crafting bucket list. My favorite place to search out quotes on the web is quote garden.

Enjoy your Friday

more new stuff from Lily Bee

I am obsessed with watching the Olympics. So much so that I relocated half my scrap crap (as it's affectionately called at my house) to my kitchen island where I just finished up 8 cards I did for the Card Kitchen. So speaking of cards I have some to share featuring more of the new Lily Bee.

These first 2 cards show off Autumn Spice ...
