Home Grown | Jillibean Soup

Hello crafters happy Thursday. Spring is here in Oregon and I feel very fortunate that we are experiencing some mild weather. This is code for it hasn't been raining cats and dogs. My daughter has already started growing this years garden in a starter box in our kitchen window.

The layout I have for you today shows off our garden from a few years ago.

Happy Birthday Scrapbook & Cards Today

Apparently I am having technical difficulties otherwise known as user error with my blog. So I figured I might as well just inundate you with all the happenings in scrapland.

If you didn't know already the spring issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today is now available. If you don't get it in print it is always available to download for free and the Scrapbook & Cards Today website.I hope you get a change to take a look at the issue I am super proud of my work that is featured. The adorable cover was designed by my friend Laura Vegas and the cover model is non other than Devon (hope I am spelling that right), Miss Vicki Boutin's darling little girl.

Did you know it's Scrapbook & Cards Today 7th Birthday? I am super proud to me a part of this magazine. I can remember the first time I got my hands on a physical copy of Scrapbook & Cards Today there is nothing else out there like it. It's quality is stellar. All week long SCT is hosting a birthday party on the blog showing off tons of projects and giving away tons of goodies. Make sure you stop by and get in on all the action.

Back from a little break with a little Jillibean Soup

Well hello blog-land. Yes I have been ignoring you not on purpose. I simply am buried under mounds of paper and I just have let blogging slide.

Today I have a layout from the March Jillbean Soup Designer Challenge. This month's challenge was use as many patterned papers on one layout or project as you can. I specifically zeroed in on the idea of featuring as many collections on one layout as I could. I used 12 different patterned papers from different collections going back to Monster Stew.

It's great how the old Jillibean Soup can so seamlessly be blended with the new lines. So if you have been hoarding that Jillibean I challenge you to break it out and mix it with some of the newer lines. March Colour Suite

Hello crafters and welcome to the March Colour Suite a monthly colour challenge I put together for my friends at Scrapbook & Cards Today. This month's colour inspiration was green. After reviewing my past challenges I noticed it had been a while since I used green so this is where I began.

(Supplies Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Patterned Papers from Basic Grey/My Minds Eye/Echo Park, My Minds Eye Enamel Dots/Label Stickers, misc buttons, twine, Technique Tuesday Stamps, VersaMark Ink, Stampin Up Punch, Queen & Co Washi Tape, Silhouette Cutting System, and various fonts downloaded from the internet)

The stars on this layout were cut from the stamp My Minds Eye patterned paper that I used to cut my large quote title from. The focus quote/title has grown to be one of my favorite things to do on my pages. I even have an entire Pinterest board called words to scrap that is dedicated to phrased I want to use on projects someday.

This month I invited my friend and fellow designer Vicki Boutin to make a layout inspired by this month's Colour Suite. Colour is so very subjective and I love seeing how other people translate my vision. Make sure you check out her blog.

Winter Road Trip | Jillibean Soup

Greetings crafters TGIF. I have had a wild week working though some additional assignments and I was blessed with a cold. I am super excited about the latter (insert sarcasm). I have a feeling I took on too much this month so I am going full court press trying to get ahead of all my projects.

Today I have a Jillibean Soup layout I did back in January. I am super behind on loading projects be prepared for a Jillibean blog frenzy. I love to play around with usinig larger photos. I took advanntage of the larger space to show off this scenic photo taken on a trip over the mountain.

(Supplies Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Jillibean Soup Patterned Paper/Alphas/Hexagon Stickers/Corrugated Paper/Buttons/Label Stickers, My Minds Eye Enamel Dots, Velumn, Sizzix Snowflake Die, Studio Calico Wood Embellishments, Twine, Stampin Up Scallop Punch, and Silhouette Cutting System/Image)

I cut snowflakes from vellum using my Cuttlebug and a Sizzix die. I like the subtle effect vellum has on a layout, it adds a little something extra without adding too much visual weight and clutter. I simply used a simple cross stitch to attach the snowflakes to my layout.
