August Colour Suite

Happy Saturday and Welcome to the August Colour Suite a monthly colour challenge I put together for my friends at Scrapbook and Cards Today. I don't know if you noticed but I took July off. Along with the monthly Colour Suite I also put it together 4 times a year for the magazine. I've decided to take 1 month off a quarter so I am not doubling up when I work on the magazine.

This month I used a piece from my Pinterest Color Inspiration board. I often start with a photo like this then once I start pulling colours the final colour suite looks nothing like the inspiration piece. This month I stayed true to my original inspiration.

I was so inspired by the eggs I really wanted to recreate that feeling of one colour washing into another. I love how the gold flows from the orange and the yellow.
(Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock,, Patterned Paper Doodlebug/Bella Blvd/American Crafts/Simple Stories/Lawn Fawn, Kraft Circle Die Cut Jillibean Soup, Washi Tape Glitz, Gold Stars Studio Calico, Gold Glitter Heart American Crafts, Die Cut Chic Tags, Enamel Dots Doodlebug, My Favorite Things Alpha/Number die set, Corner Rounder, Hemp Twine, Black Pen, Tiny Attacher, and font KingThings Typewriter)

Thanks for joining me today for the August Colour Suite. To read more about this challenge or to check out my past challenges don't forget to make your way over to the Scrapbook & Cards Today website and Blog.

August PageMaps

Hello August I cannot believe you are here so soon I guess I haven't been paying enough attention to the calendar these days having too much fun enjoying the lazy days of summer. My August PageMaps sketch is so much fun. It seems like each month I say the sketch was my favorite but this month really was unique.

As my kids have grown the way I scrapbook has changed. I used to scrapbook events and now I scrapbook little stories from everyday life.  This is one such story.

(Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Patterned Paper Echo Park/Fancy Pants, Tag Fancy Pants, Flair Studio Calico, Stars Studio Calico, Wood Dots My Minds Eye, Button Fancy Pants, Hemp Twine, Metal Love Embellishment Maya Road, Metal Alpha Die from My Favorite Things, Scallop Die Spellbinders, Black Pen, Silhouette Cutting System and Image and font KingThings downloaded from the internet)

There is so much about this sketch that was a step out of my creative box yet I was able to totally creatively relate to it. I have been in a creative slump so I think this sketch really pushed me to create something I really love.

Thanks for joining me today and happy crafting.

July PageMaps

Happy July crafters today I am showing off the my July PageMaps layout. This month's sketch might be one of my all time favorites. You know how I love my circles I couldn't resist them.

I kept the overall base design of my layout the same as the sketch. I eliminated 1 photo from my layout and placed the 4 circles in a vertical strip rather than a square block.

(Supplies Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Jillibean Soup Patterned Paper/Wood Veneer Butterfly/Stickers/Die Cuts/Flash Cards/Wood Sprinkles, Spellbinders Scallop border die, Hemp Twine, My Minds Eye Enamel Dots, Technique Tuesday Circle Metal Dies, Silhouette Cutting System and Image, Black Pen, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher and font Veteran Typewriter)

I couldn't resist pairing Jillibean Soup's Birthday Bisque with this photo of my daughter on her 14th birthday. The colors were a perfect match to her dress. Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting.

Camp laugh Smile Repeat | Jillibean Soup

Happy Tuesday friends now that the kids are out of school and summer is upon us I thought this page featuring Jillibean Soup was perfect to share with you today. I admit I think I am love with the blue patterned papers from some of Jillibean's latest collections. They are the great neutral canvas for just about any photos.

(Supplies Used: Jillibean Soup Patterned Paper/Mini Placemat/Wooden Sprinkles/Wooden Nickles/Stickers/Thin Chip Alphas, Hemp Twine, Paper Smooches Metal Star Die, Maya Road Mist, and font Veteran Typewriter downloaded from the internet)

If you are wondering about the "at" symbol I chose to use rather than an "a" it's simply creative license. I liked the way it visually looked on my page and this is the beauty of scrapbooking in the end they they are your pages.

I played around with more mist splatters on this layout. I am finding if I can contain the mist it's much easier for me to use on a my projects. I like how the mist breaks up the stark white mini placemat from Jillibean Soup.

Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting!
