Autumn Spice from Lily Bee

Good afternoon crafters I am taking a break from a massive card making frenzy to sit on my back deck and blog. While most of the country has been sweltering out west we have had a mild summer (it's currently 75). I simply love the warmth that doesn't chase you indoors cranking up your AC.

Here a layout featuring the newest fall release from Lily Bee called Autumn Spice. I think the hexagon paper has got to be my favorite.

The design for this layout was inspired by a layout I found on Pinterest. I can't tell you how much I adore Pinterest. It really has expanded my creative horizons.

Well I best get back to my card making. Happy Crafting :)

CHA ... it's a wrap

Howdy everyone how about a few more photos highlighting some of the fun goodies I spotted when I wandered the show floor.

The Silhouette can cut fabric who knew. The folks at the Silhouette booth were mighty busy making the coolest bags. I spotted this t-shirt made with hexagons cut from the Silhouette seriously how cool is that?

Cha-01

I love the how Elle's Studio mixed more white into her lines sometimes yellow/cream can be fussy to work with.

Cha-02

I'm a BIG fan of Studio Calico's wood veneer embellishments. Combine them with word bubbles eeek I am so excited about these. They also have border strips too.
Cha-03

Not many companies are releasing new alphas these days so I was excited to see this new font from Bella Blvd. The new style is all caps and more tall and narrow great for fitting the longer title on a layout.
Cha-04

I have a weak spot for decorative brads and these little beauties from Cosmo Cricket are going to the top of my list. They are so neutral and I will be able to work them into any project. That's my favorite type of embellishment.
Cha-05

Hi my name is Summer and I am addicted to using negative space on my layouts. Imagine my face when I caught this stencil paper from Jenni Bowlin. It reminds me of Autumn Leaves stencils from back in the day ... they were a favorite of mine. Jenni had lots of great embellishments and fun postage stamp stickers too. Fancy Pants Designs also had great cut out flash cards (sorry no photo). Again these pieces are neutral and will mix with just about anything ... LOVE THAT.
Cha-07

I regret I never take as many photos as I envision in my head. This was the only shot I took of the Lily Bee booth and I know I am kind of biased but I love all the new lines. Pretty paper just makes me happy.
Cha-08

Lots of companies are integrating pieces to use with Project Life. Although I am not a Project Life scrapbooker I love what I am seeing. The pieces don't have to just be used with the Project Life formula they can easily be translated onto a traditional scrapbook layout or card.

I think that's all for today ... happy crafting :)

CHA from the Jillibean Soup Booth

Whoop I made it safely back from another wonderful trip to Chicago last Friday. I took the weekend to decompress and do a much needed room make over for my daughter. I just got around to showing off a few more photos from the show.

Laina helping fluff the booth on day 2 of set up.

Jill and Patty at our famous make n' take island.

Cha-02

It's crazy messy before the crates are taken away and the carpet is put down. A lot of work goes into to making a trade show booth look as amazing as it does. Jill's hubby always spends the first day of set up with us putting up our fabulous corrugated metal walls. It's always a stunning result in the end.

Cha-03

Need I say more ...

Cha-04

Here are a couple shots of the booth just as the show opened. As usual it looked fabulous.

I hope you have enjoyed my little backstage tour of the Jillibean Soup booth. Stay tuned for more photos from the show floor and a winner from last weeks CK giveaway.

Creating Keepsake Mixed Media Blog Hop and Give Away

Hello again from Chicago. Today is opening day at CHA and I am taking a break from the madness to give away a copy of the latest special publication from Creating Keepsakes.

If you are familiar with my work you might not consider me a mixed media kind of girl but even us clean lines scrapbookers get a little messy from time to time. This wonderful special issue goes on sale today.

Open publication - Free publishing - More art mediums

I'd like to share with you a layout I did from the issue that shows off several different uses of mixed media type products. You might not be able to tell from the photos but the Corrugated alphas were painted to coordinate with the colors of my layout. Also I incorporated several metal elements like a binder clip from my office supply stash and I used a floral stick pin as a flag base. I also stamped and sprinkled lots of gemstones all over my layout.

First day

(Supplies Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Patterned Paper Jillibean Soup, Corrugared Alphas Jillibean Soup, Stickers Jillibean Soup, Paint Making Memories, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, Stampin' Up Punch, Jillibean Soup/Unity Stamp, Versafine Black Ink, Misc gemstones, buttons Fancy Pants, Tags Jillibean Soup, Twine Jillibean Soup, Binder Clip, Floral Stick Pin, and font Verteran Typewriter downloaded from the internet)

To learn more about this special issue you can check out the bonus online content at Creating Keepsakes. Thanks for stopping by today to win your very own copy of this wonderful issue leave a comment on this post. Since I am at CHA you have all week to leave a comment for your chance to win. CHA Set Up

Greetings from booth 1944. I wanted to show off a little behind the scenes action from the Jillibean Soup booth. The booths are divided with a lovely blue and white curtain like what you see in the photo below.

Cha-01

The curtain is covered. You can see the shell of the booth before the corrugated metal is installed.

Cha-02

Then the magic happens and things start to take shape.

Stay tuned for more from CHA and a preview/give away of Creating Keepsakes newest special publication.

OUCH I think I got a paper cut

I swear I cleaned my office this morning. I even took a photo to prove it ...

Desk

Shortly after this photo was taken this morning UPS dropped off another box from Jillibean Soup. I even did a little happy dance around my kitchen island.

Somehow soon after my desk looked like this ...

Desk01
If you look closely enough you might spot some of the new Jillibean Soup. I see some new stamps, soup labels and flag stickers. Sadly the hexagon stickers are buried which is unfortunate since they are my favorite.

Stay tuned for more fun updates from CHA and more. Be good and happy crafting ...

a little LOVE for the word bubble

Help I'm buried under a mound of paper and I can't get up. I can't believe how fast time flies I leave for Chicago on Saturday. I have several more cards to get done.

I have a Jillibean Soup Macho Nacho layout for you today. I think it's one of my favorite layouts right now. Not only do I love the product I really love the humor of my layout that is so my son. I created the word bubbles with my Silhouette and a couple of fonts. I didn't have to buy a word bubble file I used a free font called Talk which is all kinds of dingbats word bubbles.

July Spellbinders/PageMaps

Morning Everyone, this crept up on me this month I should have put it up yesterday but I usually don't update over the weekend so it's all good. So we will begin the week with a sketch and dies from PageMaps and Spellbinders. The July Spellbinders set is called Jar Labels you can check it out and all the past sets at A Cherry on Top.

(Supplies Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Patterned Paper My Minds Eye/Studio Calico/Crate Paper/Heidi Swapp, Jillibean Soup Corrugated white paper, Jillibean Soup Alpha Stickers, Spellbinders Dies, White DMC Floss, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher and font Veteran Typewriter)

Again I went for using the negative space with the flower die. I cut strips of the red patterned paper, randomly placed the die and then backed each with the textured corrugated paper. I even went crazy and mixed up the direction of the corrugated paper. I am taking August off but I will be back in September so don't miss me too much.

I wanted to thank everyone who stopped by over the weekend for the Lily Bee blog Hop. Okay kids time to get back to work I have major CHA crafting projects to get done, kids to kart to swimming lessons, practices and tutoring. The list keeps on growing.
