October PageMaps

Hello October! It's the beginning of the month and that means it's time for another PageMaps layout. Over the past few months I have had been in a creative rut. The only place where I haven't felt stuck was when I work with Becky's sketches.

I chose today's sketch for a couple of reasons. First I love how this sketch uses a traditional 4x6 photo. Second while I have always been more of a multi-photo scrapbooker as my children have gotten older the way I scrapbook has changed. I scrap fewer multi-photo events and today's layout is the perfect example of this. And third how could I resit the squares. They are such a fantastic way to use my favorite scraps from my stash.

(Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Patterned Papers AC/Simple Stories/Fancy Pants/Studio Calico/Chickaniddy, Glitter Hearts American Crafts, My Favorite Things Alpha Dies, Spellbinders Scallop Border Die, Kraft die cut Jillibean Soup, Mini Clothes Pin Maya Road, Wood Arrow Studio Calico, Die Cut Tab Pink Paislee, Kraft Washi Tape Jillibean Soup, Love Wood Embellishment American Crafts, Chipboard Embellishment Fancy Pants, Hemp Twine, Gold Stars Studio Calico and font KingThings Typewriter)

I admit the My Favorite Things alphas are my current go to favorites. I have an upper case set, a lower case set and a numbers set. They are the a great size for making those longer more verbose titles I seem to favor these days.

Thanks for stopping by today happy crafting!

Advice to my daughter | Scrapbook & Cards Today

Hello friends I thought today was a perfect day to share a layout I did for the summer issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today. I created this layout for the summer Colour Suite to see the article in full you can download it for free at the SCT website.

I know it must look as if I only have 1 child these days but my 17 year old has no interest in me or my camera. I am generally stuck with only a handful of photos of him most are usually blurry and the ones that are not he has his mouth open. The flip side of this is I have a little girl who is coming of age in the time of the "selfie" and loves to take tons of photos. So folks this is why it looks as if I have only one child.

(Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Patterned Paper American Crafts/Studio Calico/Jillibean Soup, Wood Embellishments Ellie's Studio/Studio Calico, Sequins Doodlebug, Stamps Technique Tuesday, Flair My Minds Eye, Hemp Twine, Clothes Pin Bow from Crate Paper, Enamel Dots Doodlebug, Silhouette Cutting System/Image, Circle Punches, Corner Rounder, Tiny Alpha Stickers Basic Grey, Mist Studio Calico, and font Bohemian Typewriter)

I worked on this layout last spring after my daughter went through a bit of girl drama. I often think she doesn't hear so I like to put words to her on projects with the hope reading them might put things in a new perspective.

I hope you have been inspired today happy crafting.

September Colour Suite

Happy Monday crafters and welcome to the September Colour Suite a monthly colour challenge I put together for my friends at Scrapbook and Cards Today. This month I was inspired to create this Colour Suite from primary colours and how they remind me of back to school.

On my layout I gravitated towards the espresso brown and used the colours from this month's challenge to accent this layout.

(Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Patterned Paper Bella Blvd/American Crafts/Doodlebug, My Favorite Things Alpha Die, Die Cuts Elle's Studio/Bella Blvd/Chic Tags, Flair Studio Calico, Wood Stars Studio Calico, Enamel Dots Doodlebug, Canvas Stars Simple Stories, Punches Fiskars/Stampin' Up, White Gel Pen, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, Clothes Pin, and font Kingthings Typewriter downloaded from the internet)

This month I invited the newest member of the Scrapbook and Cards Today design team Virginia Nebel to join me and take the Colour Suite challenge. I am fortunate to not only design with Virginia on the SCT team but the PageMaps team as well. I really loved how she picked out her favorite colours from the challenge to create her layout. As the creator of the Colour Suite I always feel obligated to use all 5 colours Virginia's layout is a wonderful reminder that you do not have to use all the colours I choose.

Thanks for joining me today for the September Colour Suite. To read more about this challenge or to check out my past challenges don't forget to make your way over to the Scrapbook & Cards Today website and Blog.

Happy crafting friends!

THS Tech | Jillibean Soup

Well Hello there blog world. I really haven't forgotten about you. I have taken some time away from my craft table. Not a total step back but a serious cut down and I am afraid in the process this little blog got the shaft.

I thought I would start back with a tried and true Jillibean Soup favorite project and I know I have a few  hiding on my hard drive that I have neglected to share.

(Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Jillibean Soup Kraft Paper/Patterned Paper/Wooden Sprinkles/Alphas/Die Cuts/Stickers/Wooden Nickles, Enamel Dots Doodlebug, Black Pen Circle Die Technique Tuesday, Hemp Twine and font downloaded from the internet)

I couldn't resist pairing the circuit board patterned paper from Jillibean Soup with at least 1 tech photo of Grant. Don't be surprised if you see this pairing again from me it's one of my favorite patterns from Spicy Social Soup Collection.

Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting!

September PageMaps

Hello September wow time seems to be flying by fast these days. Today it's time for my September PageMaps layout. This month I selected a double page layout. I know you don't see enough of these layouts so I try to do one every few months.

I kept to the sketch but I tend to favor larger photos on my layouts. I used 4 3.5x5 photos on this project rather than the 3x4.5 photos shown in the sketch.

(Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Jillibean Soup Patterned Paper/Mask/Embellishments, Wood Stars Studio Calico, Canvas Stars Simple Stories, DMC Floss, Mist Studio Calico, Cork Heart Studio Calico, Stampin Up Punch, Black Pen, Mini Clothes Pin, Silhouette Cutting System and fonts)

Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Crafting!
