CHA recap one final post

One final CHA recap post. I always try to give you a peek of life outside of the Jillibean Soup booth. This year I didn't much time to explore the show floor and take pictures.

I would have to say one of the huge themes of the winter show was diversification. Scrapbook companies cannot survive selling paper alone. Branching out and adding DIY, day planners, and Instagram albums are just a few ways companies were looking to reach new customers. Webster's Pages released Color Rush a few months ago and I am in love with the teal and white striped day planner. I am a digital calendar type of a girl but man I am itching for this beauty it's so very me.

Let me tell you a little secret I love bows. I really love them, they are sweet, and girly and I cannot get enough of them and not just in the crafty world either. I think I might have to order these Bella Blvd. felt bows in every color. They would easily go with just about everything.

In the end it's really all about the paper right. I love a little bit of color and couldn't resist the bright colors from Pink Paislee and Chickaniddy Crafts.

I think I have a thing for lemons. After the fact I realized I snapped up photos of 2 different lines with lemon prints. Just because I didn't photograph it doesn't mean it didn't end up in my metal top ten. I also loved Shemelle's coffee cups, Crate Paper's use of gold and teal, Bella Blvd's transparencies, and the Minc from Heidi Swapp.

Thanks for stopping by today. Do you have any favorite picks from CHA? I know there were tons of things I missed. Happy crafting friends ...

Scenes from the Jillibean Soup booth part 2 | CHA 2015

I was so exhausted last night I could barely see straight and this morning I realized I really only shared 2 booth photos. Today I am much more rested and I might be able to string a couple of sentences together.

Jillibean Soup released 2 new paper collections at winter CHA 2015. The first is called Summer Red Raspberry. This collection is watercolor inspired. It's chalked full of beautiful summer patterns like flowers, butterflies and even doilies.

The second collection is called Saffron Yellow Pepper. This collection boasts fun spring patterns including polka dots, flowers and umbrellas. I love that this collection includes black it adds great contrast between colors. Can you believe this is the first time Jillibean has included black in a paper collection?

Jillibean also released the Mix the Media collection and Party Playground. These new collection featured below are so awesome. Mix the Media is an entire collection of products that fit the DIY category. Party Playground is everything you need to put on the perfect party from straws, to garland to treat bags.

We know how to have a little bit of fun in the booth too. Jill and Beth Kingston were giggling up a storm just before they filmed a segment for My Craft Channel.

Monday was the national championship football game, Kimber and I were representing our home fields in the Jillibean Soup booth. Sadly Oregon lost.

Thanks for stopping by today. Jillibean's new collections will be shipping on or before February 15th. Look for them at your local retailer or online at retailers like Emma's Paperie, Scrapbook.com and A Cherry on Top. Happy Scrapping!

Scenes from the Jillibean Soup booth | CHA 2015

Over the years I have tried hard to update from the show floor but busy days followed by busy nights kept me off my computer. I figured I couldn't start this post off without a photo of where the magic happens: the Anaheim Convention Center.

I arrived a day late so by the time I made it to the show floor on Thursday morning the carpet was down and the walls were up. I took this shot mid day on day 2 of set up. Lots of progress happening and boxes unpacked.

Jill comes up with the best ideas for the booth. Who knew old vintage suitcases cut in half could be turned into shelves.

Thanks for stopping by stay tuned for more photos from the booth and the show floor. Happy Crafting!

12 Days of Holiday Gift Giving

Welcome to the 12 days of holiday gift giving from my friends at Scrapbook and Cards Today. We are coming to the end of our holiday celebration I hope you have been following along. If not make sure you take a look at all the previous posts on the SCT blog they have been super fun and inspiring.  Not to mention there have been tons of give-a-ways too.

I made a little non-traditional holiday card and gift pouch from some of my favorite Jillibean Soup goodies. While red and green adorn your traditional cards I love to try and mix it up every so often. This little set features the fun combination of teal and yellow.

(Supplies Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Jillibean Soup Patterned Paper/Kraft Tape/Stamp/Glitter Stars/Die Cuts, Lawn Fawn Twine, Colorbox Ink, Maya Road Clothes Pin)

I created a background on my card from Jillibean Soup kraft tape. By Simply layering the tape and alternating the dots it looks just like pattered paper.

Don't forget to stop by the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog to see more about the 12 Days of Holiday Gift Giving. There are lots of fun things happening including some pretty awesome give-a-ways. Happy Crafting!!!!

Jillibean Soup Cards

Happy Monday crafters, today I thought I would share a few cards. I love making them and for some reason I always forget to post them on my blog. Then I end up flooding my blog with a bunch of cards all at once.

(Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Jillibean Soup Patterned Paper and Stamp, Ink, Corner Rounder, Metal Dies My Favorite Things/Paper Smooches, Hemp Twine)

(Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Jillibean Soup Patterned Paper/Wooden Flag/Flash Card, Hemp Twine, Maya Road Clothes Pin, Spellbinders Metal Die, My Minds Eye Enamel Dots)

I know both cards are not holiday related but these could easily be recreated and turned into holiday cards with a simple swap of products.

Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting!

Everyone needs a little sparkle in their life

Happy Wednesday crafters! I love a little sparkle it just brightens up everything so I recently took some of my favorite Jillibean Soup alphas and added glitter. This was the result ...

I stared with a neutral colored Jillibean Soup alpha. I ran the alphas face down though a Xyron Sticker maker. This makes adheing the glitter to the front of the alphas a snap.

Once the alphas are covered with glitter I sealed them with Crystal Lacquer. Crystal Lacquer is very similar to Diamond Glaze. This step helps hold the glitter in place but isn't necessary.

This is how my glittered alphas look on my layout.

(Supplies Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Jillibean Soup Alpha Stickers /Patterned Paper/Tag/Glitter/Kraft Accessories/Diecuts/File Cards/Clothespin, Twine and Tiny Attacher)

You know that saying there is more than one way to skin a cat. This applies to to glittering alphas as well. While I prefer the Xyron sticker maker method you can achieve this same look from any number of simpler techniques.

Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting!
